“Ajisai-yama” is a name of this accommodation. It is also a Buddhist temple named “Myorenji”. The literal meaning of “Ajisai-yama” is a mountain full of hydrangea. This temple has more than 900 hydrangea trees and they are fully booming in June.

Shojin-ryori are vegetarian dishes for
Buddhist monks. A set of vegetarian dishes served specially to an attendee
after the Buddhist ceremony, is called “O-toki”.
You will cook the O-toki dishes with the host. While you are eating them, the host will talk about the meaning and the history of each dish.
